Steve Berry will be demonstrating selecting, planning, pruning and caring for roses at his home on January 4, 2025, from 10 am to noon.  The house is located in San Diego 92103.  Steve would like to begin right at ten so come a few minutes early.  There will be cider and donuts.

Steve is a long time member of the San Diego Rose Society, serving as President, board member, and active member leading workshops and opening up his garden in Mission Hills during the National Rose Conventions held in San Diego.   His garden was on display at the Garden Clubs Annual Tour in 2024.

Goals of Pruning: In San Diego, our winter pruning in January prompts our roses to produce their best quality and. quantity of blooms. There are several reason for this: first pruning encourages our roses to be productive; second, when we prune to thicker stems we get bigger and better blooms; third, pruning all our roses at the same time or within the space of a few weeks of each other prompts a synchronized and magical show-stopping spring display. ( Rita Perwich, Rose Ramblings, September 2020 )

Please RSVP by January 1, 2025 and note that only 15-20 people can fit in Steve's backyard to see the pruning demonstration.
