Profits from the annual Garden Walk and other events are used to fund garden related endeavors that benefit the entire community. We invite and encourage community groups, not-for-profit organizations and associations, and community members to identify opportunities to enhance our community for the mutual benefit of residents, the business community and visitors.

As a non-profit community service organization these are some of the activities we support.

• Allen Canyon Clean-Up by Boy Scout Troop
• Horticultural scholarships to four San Diego Community Colleges
• Playground equipment and landscaping at Pioneer Park
• Grant School’s Gecko Garden
• Plantings at Presidio Park
• Bird sculptures along Washington Avenue
• Planted pots on Lewis Street
• Painted mural on Reynard Way

WE ARE LOOKING FOR NEW POTENTIAL BEAUTIFICATION PROJECTS!

Criteria:

Projects must be located within the greater Mission Hills community, bounded by Albatross to the east, San Diego Avenue to the west, Hotel Circle to the north, and Laurel Street to the south.

Proposed projects should demonstrate how they will be:

• Sustained without further Garden Club funding
• Beneficial to community members, businesses, and/or visitors
• Aligned with the setting in which located
• Utilizing water-wise principles

Applications will be accepted by October 30, January 30, and April 30 for funding based on the availability of funds from the prior May’s Garden Walk.
