Fall Pot Luck and Ikebana Workshop with Chris Jones

Register here to enjoy the pot luck and to participate in the Ikebana workshop.  The workshop instructor will be Chris Jones.  Chris moved from the Santa Barbara area to San Diego in 2020.  She brought with her thirty years of experience with and passion for Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging.  She has deep knowledge of the Sogetsu School of practice, which holds that nature releases the creativity in anyone who works with it.  She will lead the workshop in the first lesson from the Sogetsu School’s textbook number one.

Materials you will need to participate in the Workshop.

1. Flat open tray/bowl 8 1/2“ diameter with an 1 1/2” edge.  (Available now as Designer tray black and plastic at Wholesale Flowers off of Linda Vista Road at 5305 Metro Street, San Diego 92110 for $3.50)
2. Metal Kenzan 2 3/8” (Available now at Wholesale Flowers for $10) 
3. Garden shears
4. 3 branches, 20” tall about 1/4” in diameter, sturdy but can have a bend in it.

      We will provide the flowers.
