Karen has been a student advocate at MiraCosta College as a Garden Mentor for Roots of Justice, Vice President of Horticulture Club, and Writing Consultant at the Writing Center. Despite not having much exposure to gardening or agriculture growing up, her newfound love of the outdoors and growing food has inspired her to pursue a path of cultivation. Karen’s mission is to weave regenerative practices while creating safe spaces for others to learn and heal wherever she goes. She recently graduated with an Associate of Science Degree: Sustainable Agriculture. To further her higher education journey, she is transferring to San Diego State University to major in Sustainability. Outside of serving the community, Karen enjoys pilates, yoga, and discovering new music.
