The Mission Hills Garden Club Scholarship for 2025-2026 is open to:
Students enrolled in Horticultural majors at City, Cuyamaca, Mira Costa, & Southwestern Community Colleges who will have completed one full academic semester by December 2024 and will either continue attending the college or transfer to a 4 year university through Fall 2024.
Students enrolled in at least 6 credits a semester.
Students pursuing a Certificate, an Associate degree or planning to transfer to a 4 year institution.
Students who have a 2.50 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale
Students must certify that the essay is their original work and that they have not used AI tools or software such as ChatGPT, BARD or similar technologies, to draft, edit, or generate content for their submission. Students also understand the academic integrity policies of the Mission Hills Garden Club and accept full responsibility for the authenticity of their work.
Past recipients may reapply and will compete with all other applicants as long as they are still currently attending one of the 4 Community Colleges.
The Scholarship may be used for tuition, books, fees and in any way that helps the recipients achieve their academic goal.
The Launch date for the Mission Hills Garden Club Scholarship is: February 5, 2025 at 9 AM
The Deadline for applying is: March 5, 2025 at 2pm
** A transcript of the Fall 2024 semester, a photo and short bio is required & must be emailed to the MHGC at mhgcwebsite@gmail.com before the Deadline for applying on March 5, 2025 at 2pm.
Awardees will be notified by email during the Spring 2025 semester
** The photo and short bio of the awardees will be posted on the Scholarship page of the MissionHillsGardenClub website
Awardees will be recognized at a MHGC event in June, 2025. At the event they will receive the Scholarship and a Certificate. Awardees will also be given a year’s free membership in the Mission Hills Garden Club.
