Staghorn Ferns - Master Gardener Lynn Beveridge
Please join us to learn all about staghorn ferns - a popular plant in Mission Hills gardens. Lynn will tell us all about these showy plants - how to grow and care for them. They are not difficult to grow as some may think. She will demonstrate how to remove a "pup" from a overgrown specimen (from Dr. Diseali's garden) and mount it to a board to begin it's own life.
Lynn grew up in San Diego in the 1950s and 60s, when there was a lot of agriculture. She and her parents always loved gardening. She graduated from Grossmont High School and California State University at Northridge.
Travel is one of Lynn's favorite pastimes and with her husband has visited the seven continents, always viewing gardens all over the world.
Lynn has been a Master Gardener for 10 years, graduating from their training through the University of California. She enjoys gardening and finds it relaxing. She grows orchids, succulents, ferns, roses and fruits trees in her small yard.
Please RSVP - members free; guests $5
