What: Fun in the garden while in the middle of a Pandemic with Fausto Palafox, owner of the Mission Hills Nursery
Owners since 1989, Fausto’s family is only the third to own the Mission Hills Nursery, founded by Kate Sessions in 1910. Along with helping home gardeners to enhance their landscapes, the nursery has divisions that design and install landscapes, from small patios to large vineyards. Another division maintains commercial and homeowner properties. This year nursery staff have seen a large growth in people growing their own food. They are proud to have the knowledge and ability to be working together during these times. Gardening is both physically and emotionally rewarding.
The Garden Club Board is excited about the ability to see everyone’s faces at this first virtual event and hope that you will be as well.
Many institutions have been using Zoom to conduct business, from school districts to the San Diego Community College system. A one-minute video about Zoom and download instructions can be found at https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362193-How-Do-I-Join-A-Meeting-.
Check your email or email events@missionhillsgardenclub.org for the exact links, meeting ID, password needed to join these tech support sessions.
We will all be learning as we use this technology for our first virtual Garden Club meeting. To help the meeting flow smoothly, we plan to mute participants once the meeting starts and use the chat feature for participants to ask questions of the presenter. The moderator will watch the chat space and periodically interrupt to ask the questions. At the end of the sessions, we’ll unmute everyone for any additional questions.
