I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the sponsors who have donated to the Mission Hills Garden Club. I greatly appreciate having been selected to receive this scholarship that enables me to succeed in my entrepreneurial endeavors with floral design. I would like to start off by talking a little about my passion for gardening. At a young age I remember being outside with my grandfather, we would go together to pick out seed and I would always want to help him plant the flowers. In the front yard I would be able to see the flowers grow throughout Spring. Unknowningly doing this as a child that I created this love, this passion and would want to make this my forever career. The Garden Club gave me this opportunity to grow my small business from home because being a single mother of three makes it hard to purchase necessary supplies needed to further my career. Being able to create different designs and color patterns doesn’t feel like a project or a job but rather creating art with flowers.
